Hi all,
I may have the chance to purchase a used Klyne 6PE phono stage, but I cannot audition it before buying.
I'm interested in it due to Klyne's very good reputation, and the only time I could listen to a Klyne preamp (series 5, don't know exactly which model) it sounded very good, but it was a quite brief listening and in a half unknown setup (half = the power ampo was my ARC 100.2 itself !).
So... er... how does it sound ? I mean: how would you describe its sound ?
Some say Klynes are "tubey" and that would be very good if it means "not harsh", but I don't want roll off or excessive warmth or "fascinating colour": I want neautrality, timbrical correctness, dynamics, details, frequency extension, bass definition... well, at least a good share of them.
What do you think about it ?
moreover: is the series 6 superior than 5 or is it the entry level ?
thanks, ciao
