It’s actually refreshing to see attention given to smaller amps, although I have a 4BSST running my mains, my 2BLP and BR60 are able to produce the same distortion free volume levels in my room, mind you minus the reserve for dynamics with higher volume levels.
Not everyone needs or wants power horses, and many may actually prefer a smaller form factor, remember the 2BLP was the favourite small Bryston amp for many years.
Myself I’ve run out of rack space as my living room doubles for my music and movie viewing, the 2/2.5BSST at 450 watts bridged at 4 ohms would be perfect.
I had recently substituted the 2BLP with one of Emotiva’s amps, a UPA-1 350 watts 4 ohms, not a bad amp (as they say for the price) but it’s not a Bryston, but it was the only amp I found that fit in the designated space a side from the 2BLP.
Had I known the 2BSST could have been bridged for 4 ohms (teaching old dogs new tricks) it would have been my first choice, now that the power has been increased for a 2.5 all the better.
