Picked up a Tivo Stream yesterday, allows me to stream recorded shows, live shows (with a few seconds lag) and download recorded shows.
Only works on iOS devices, no compatibility with OS X.

So far it works great, anyone with a need for this it's a great solution.

Can you confirm that basically you're limited to viewing on your home network, or downloading to your iDevice?  Reason I ask is I thought about this as an alternative to a slingbox, but it doesn't seem like you can view outside of your home network.

Your correct, it doesn't have the same functionality as a slingbox and you can only download or view on the same network...

I wonder if the issue of local network access only could be addressed by establishing VPN access into one's home network.
