"all speakers were in working order when removed" sounds like the may have the probability of not working now.
I'm surprised and utterly disappointed at the lack of response. I can understand that no one wants to take an initiative but not to comment is what is what I find, well, perplexing.
Maybe someone is building a replica of Comiskey Park and wanted an authentic PA system for it.
I am wondering if this ad is legitimate. What do you think?
They are at roughly $200 a pair now and the auction may close for more. Then someone has to pick them up and arrange to ship them to the various buyers. by the time all is said and done the could easily top $400 a pair. I would be interested in a pair at ~$50 to experiment with, so maybe that's the reason there are no responses.
Let's see. Post at 04:37 in the morning, start complaining about no responses as 11:42 the same morning? I probably check this site once a day, which is not a lot different from most people, I expect.
there aren't that many people who would care about this anyway - these are PA speakers, certainly not prized for hi fi applications. I think you are expecting too much.
Rajesh, you broke my heart on this one. I'm in Oklahoma and could of picked them up! If only I had the cash, whoever got these will make a killing. http://www.audioheritage.org/html/profiles/altec/duplex.htmDid you see how perfect the original cones and classic hammertone green paint is in the ebay pics? The buyer will of course get his pair(s) for free after exporting the rest to Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, Germany, and France.
