Matrix Quattro Amp and DAC
« on: 3 Aug 2011, 03:21 pm »
Does anyone here use the Matrix Quattro Amp and DAC?

I am using the DAC at the moment with its onboard headphone amp and am suitably impressed.

I am waiting for the Quattro amp to arrive to use in balanced mode with the DAC and a balanced cable for my HD800s.

Sounds like an advertisement.

I thought so as well. The OP posted about other things that didn't seem as "advertise-y" in other circles.

I thought I'd let it ride.

I would use that post as a prime example of what an advertisement looks like. LOL....if thats not an ad I'd honestly be shocked.
Just my honest appraisal of the post.... 8)

I have no affiliation with Matrix...I live in South Africa and ordered one off eBay..

I just thought I would share my opinions on an interesting new product... :duh:

No worries, from your standpoint, i'm sure you figured you'd save us the trouble of clicking through the links and just post the pics and specs into your message.

And from some of our (perhaps cynical or "experienced") viewpoints, your post lacked a bit of the usual excitement of a new poster with new gear.

Anyway, welcome, and keep us up to speed as to how you are liking your setup.

guido- Its all Good, my remarks were not meant to incite and were made with tongue in cheek....I apologize to all if I was out of line.
The headphone amp is pretty good huh?? I'm always looking for neat headphone amps, I didn't look yet at the price but is it worth the dollar amount, is it a huge bang for the buck???

No problem guys...it was just a heads-up on what I perceive to be a very good product for the money.

It seems to be designed around the Benchmark DAC1 HDR\pre philosophy with a few tweaks and changes...and costs 1\3 of the price....lots of discussion on other hi-fi forums about the similarities.

I am now waiting for the matching balanced amp to arrive to bring out the full potential on my HD800s with a balanced cable.
