Thanks! I have the V2's, but I customized them - I use a DCX 2496 and run them actively tri-amped. I also dropped in the V1 tweeters, which are open in the back, so my V2's are fully OB unlike the standard ones.
The V2's are smaller than the V1's and Super V's, and they don't use servos.
I've heard the Super V's at RMAF, last year actually. The V2's are darker sounding than the Super V's. The V2's are more dynamic and open sounding than just about any other speaker out there, but really the Super V's are even more transparent and dynamic. The bass on the Super V's is just in a different class. Best quality bass I've ever heard on any speaker, ever, even the super-ridiculously expensive and massive speakers. Crazy, crazy good bass on the Super Vs.
On the other hand, I like the tonal balance of the v2's better. Of course, I plan to build some Super V's at some point, and I'll run them fully active just like I do with my V2's. The advantage is that you can alter the tonal balance to sound any way you like it. Aside from tonal balance, I think the Super V's are clearly better in micro and macro dynamics, bass, transparency, and realism. Also, SET amps seem to not work great with the V2's, but PP tube amps are fine. The Super V with it's 97db efficiency, should allow even low powered SET's to shine.
