WTB: Used 2-channel preamp under $300
« on: 28 Aug 2011, 01:57 am »
I know little to nothing about preamps but own a pair of VMPS RM30's and am looking for a good preamp here (or on Audiogon) to pair with an Emotiva ERC-1 CD player.  Any suggestions?

Just go find a used Emotiva USP-1. I'm pleased with mine.

jeff442,

sounds like you need an amplifier also?  or do you have an amp that you didn't mention above.  so i am wondering if you need an integrated amp.  just looked on Audiogon there is a few in your price range.   http://buy.audiogon.com/cgia/fsb.pl?intatran

Good luck on your search.

cheers,

Jim

Look for an Onkyo A-9555 on the bay or audiogon. You will be able to find one for very near that price and it will serve you well for a long time.

Can you tell us about the gear you plan to use with it, and we can advise you better?  No doubt you can put together a sweet sounding system for not a lot of $$$.  :D

Thanks for the suggestions and PM's everyone.  Looks like I'll be anxiously awaiting the UPS truck with my Musical Fidelity X-P100!
