Kismet Mono's - switching from RCA to XLR
« on: 9 Jan 2011, 12:10 am »
Hi All,

Wanted to see how the Kismet's sound using XLR's versus RCA's.

Is there an internal jumper or switch that needs to be set?  If so, details please.

I could call Klaus, but it's the weekend and the Colts game is coming up; he DESERVES a break away from audio.

Thanks and Cheers,

LDM

RCAs and XLRs are both hot.  XLRs are fed from the RCAs, not balanced, but I use the XLRs.  No sound difference, but quieter.

It is my understanding that the amps are not a balanced design, so there should be no difference.  I had some hum issues with XLR's, so I switched to RCA's - problem solved.
