Bryston and Sunfire....
« on: 31 Dec 2010, 07:28 am »
I was going to purchase Bryston gear a few years ago, for a pair of Maggies I was considering...

I went with the Sunfire instead.....

For those that have actually compared.......differences??

The Maggies have also gone by the wayside....

What are the pros and cons....Bryston and Sunfire....please...

Thanks

Which Sunfire... as they're mostly HT oriented... I've listened to their "grand theater" with "holographic sound" or whatever it was called with their own speakers... while it was amazing to see how loud some small speakers could run, they didn't best other solutions in quality too...

I use the 5400......5 ch x 400w
Am using it bi-amped, on a set of Selah arrays.
Agree with you about the speakers......not my cup of tea.

Heard many good things about the Bryston gear, been along time
since I auditioned.....

I have no idea how the Selah speakers behave.... is there any particular aspect of the sound that you're looking to improve...

Otherwise it would be mostly a discussion of "bi-amping vs. more powerful amps" and you would be looking at how a 14B or a pair of 7B would/could improve things for you.... this was extensively discussed here:
