new design suggestion
« on: 6 Dec 2010, 04:10 am »
here is my suggestion for a new design in an omega speaker:
i would like to see a book shelf speaker similar in size to my beloved ruarks made in england.they are about 11 inches in height and 6 inches wide and are in a walnut finish.they are bi wireable as well as bi ampable as well.
have you considered producing a mini monitor speaker?

At this point it might be helpful to remember that Omega-Hoyt Bedford Loudspeakers are single driver speakers.
It certainly is possible to bi-wire single driver speakers; the more applicable question would be why anyone would want to.

If you were to do what I think you're suggesting, you would have two amplifiers being shorted together at the loudspeaker...

Biamp a single (1) driver speaker, with a single (1) voice coil?
Here is a picture, maybe that will help.

Hi bizyz,

ZLS, JohnR and opnly bafld are right. Can't be done.

1 Driver and 1 amp. Beauty of simplicity.

Thanks,
Louis

Yes! I've done that, with no stinking whizzer cones, no binding posts, and reach below 30 Hz without a sub.

Hi bizyz,

Technically your right. This can be done with the bipoles.

Thanks,
Louis
