I have a bryston power amp. I experimented with putting a tube pre amp to the bryston. After powering up the pre amp, I powered up the power amp and there was a very loud pop sound from the speakers. The LED light for the left channel was red during the pop sound and then changed to green. I would like to ask:
1) what could be the reason for the sudden explosively loud pop sound? DC voltage?
2) could this have somehow damage the power amp/ speakers? I later used another preamp and they seem to be working. Not sure if there might be some residue damage? Any need to take them for a check?
