Lump Charcoal Database

In my quest for my Grill Dome, I've come across this website.

It seems to have A LOT of useful info.  Check it out here: http://www.nakedwhiz.com/lump.htm

Lets start the question here.  What Lump Charcoal do YOU use?

I've been using http://www.wickedgoodcharcoal.com/. I didn't see it listed on the naked whiz's reviews, but I've found it to be a good hardwood charcoal.

Based on how the Naked Whiz ratings I would say that this has low ash, above average burn time. The only negaive is it does seem to have a high number of small pieces and dust.

Thanks for posting I'm certainly interested in trying others. :thumb:

I generally use Lazzari. They have mesquite and oak lump.

Wicked Good is listed as WGC on NakedWhiz.com.  I'm currently using the WGC "Weekend Warrior Blend" reviewed here:  http://www.nakedwhiz.com/lumpdatabase/lumpbag54.htm

I'm getting good results.  Have tried about 6 different brands that I read about on NakedWhiz.  Also a fan of Humphreys, Billy Bones and B&B, but for some reason have not been able to get Billy Bones and B&B anymore.

Cool db.  I love lump charcoal but I don't have a lot of choices here in SF.  I use whatever I can find. :duh:

I use Cowboy Charcoal.  I have experimented and different brands impart very different flavors to the meat.  Cowboy for me is the best although the lump sizes vary greatly in the bags.

Ken....You should read this.... :o

We continue to find strange things in Cowboy charcoal. If it weren't for concerns about strange items in bags of Cowboy, it might have barely squeaked up into the recommended rating.
