I've been using http://www.wickedgoodcharcoal.com/. I didn't see it listed on the naked whiz's reviews, but I've found it to be a good hardwood charcoal. Based on how the Naked Whiz ratings I would say that this has low ash, above average burn time. The only negaive is it does seem to have a high number of small pieces and dust. Thanks for posting I'm certainly interested in trying others.
Cool db. I love lump charcoal but I don't have a lot of choices here in SF. I use whatever I can find.
I use Cowboy Charcoal. I have experimented and different brands impart very different flavors to the meat. Cowboy for me is the best although the lump sizes vary greatly in the bags.Ken
We continue to find strange things in Cowboy charcoal. If it weren't for concerns about strange items in bags of Cowboy, it might have barely squeaked up into the recommended rating.
