Demo sale item: A beautiful sub-woofer!
« on: 30 Jun 2009, 03:05 pm »
SOLD

This has been my personal subwoofer but due to the fact that many of the speakers I listen to are full range, or I am listening to or testing a new speaker, I hardly ever use it.

This uses a pair of our SW-12B woofers and matching PR-12A passive radiators (mounted on the back side). It's -3db down point is 20Hz.

The box is well braced and has double wall thickness on each end. It was then lined with Blackhole 5. It is solid as a rock and produces no resonances of its own. I am guessing the weight to be around 180 pounds.

The veneer is a rather expensive Mappa Burl with figuring. It was oil rubbed then multiple coats of polyurethane. It was wet sanded with 600 grit between coats and topped of by wet sanding it with 1200 grit then polished with 3M polishing compound. The ends are painted in a flat Black to match the drivers.

You can see the depth of the clear coat in this pic.

It has the Apex Sr. amp from Apex Jr: http://www.apexjr.com/Apexsenior.htm

This will deliver 350 watts of power into this impedance load, and is just right for the pair.

This sub is really clean sounding and looks great. I am pricing it to sell. $900 and it's yours. This does not include shipping.

Yep, and I am surprised that no one jumped all over it. It is absolutely gorgeous.

It is 33.25" wide, 23.5" deep, and 16.5" tall.

I can't believe this hasn't sold.  If I had the room for this sub, I'd buy it.

Okay, I'll take $800 for it if someone comes and picks it up. I hate to let it go for that, but I am just not using it.
