^ Call Jim anyway.  He will tell you what you need to know over the phone.  He's a straight shooter.

Well, if this is about the HT4, there isn't anything else for Jim to say.  He wants to hear a version with a premium mid driver that just came on the market, and dang it, he's going to hear it, even if I have to find a bigger house to hold all of these cabinets.

Dennis, I volunteer my house to store all the darn cabinets  I can even pick them up if needed.

I think that would be a pretty long drive.

I think that would be a pretty long drive.

That would give new meaning to the concepts of "driver" and "crossover".

Well, you're more than welcome to come over when I finish the 3rd version with the new mid, probably in 7-10 days.  I would play you the first 67 versions if I could find them in the rubble.

No one can be married 68 times and live through it, unless every wife was like you, honey.  Always have to be careful what you write.  You never know when the wifey is watching.

Jim
when will the HT4 become available?

We will know the answer to that shortly.  We now have one good prototype pair up and running, but we sent another top section with yet another midrange to Dennis yesterday.  I don't want to leave any stone unturned and thought we should check out this new midrange before we made our final selection.  I should have an answer from Dennis as to his thoughts by the end of next week.  We will then start building.

Hi Jim,

Any updates?

Thanks,

David

Right now we have a comparo set up for March 6th.  Dennis Murphy will be flying in to join us for the day.  We will be listening to two different woofers sections and three mid-range/tweeter set-ups.  I doubt we will be trying anything new after that as there simply aren't any stones that were left unturned. (Besides, I have already well-tested Dennis' patience.) We should be able to reach a consensus and announce the results on March 7th.  On that date, I am hoping to answer the question, "Is that your final answer?" in the affirmative.
