SN DAC with Panasonic DVD-A7 as transport?

Hi all!

Building up a system, just ordered a pair of Decware SE84C Select Zens, which will be monoblocked. Speakers may be Reference 3A MM de Capos-i-. Trying to decide what CD player to go with, was considering Ah! Njoe Tjoeb 4000 with upsampler and Rega Planet 2000 until I came across this site and Scott Nixon DACs.

I already own a Panasonic DVD-A7, which is quite a nice player, 24bit/192khz, DVD audio, etc... It was 999$US retail price when it came out, so not a piece of junk.

What I'm wondering is whether anyone has use a Panasonic unit similar to mine as a transport with the SN DAC? I'm not sure how good the transport unit is on the Panasonic, we know Sony and Philips are good, but I don't know who makes mine, couldn't find any info.

So any input anyone? Would this player make a good combo with the SN DAC?

Have used a Pana A10 with pretty good results. For whatever that's worth to ya. sn

Thanks for your reply! I can't seem to find any info on a Panasonic A10, only on a Technics DVD-A10, as mentionned on:

This came up on a Google search for 'Panasonic A10'. Is this the one you are referring to?

Panasonic & Technics are the same company. So that's probably what he meant...

Found this, for archives I guess... I think I'll go ahead and try it with the SN DAC and see.

The A10 was supposed to be a pretty nice deck.

So if Scott had good results w/an A10, I'd bet that you'd have good results with the A7.
