Well, it sounded good until it went silent yesterday. It's about 3 months old from MusicDirect. They have a 30 guarantee. The HRT site doesn't mention a warranty.

Anyhow, my old usb dac works fine in the same port. Now I know that this could be a fluke, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had their Streamer+ quit working.

By the way, it stinks, literally. I don't know if it smelled bad before it quit, but when I got it near my face today, it smelled like ozone and petroleum.

Just emailed HRT and got a quick reply. Customer support is good, quick customer support is very good.  :thumb:

They want me to return the product for inspection and repair. Also, they said their products have a 1 year warranty.

I have had mine since the Summer.  Have not used it extensively but for what use I put on it via my MacBook Pro 2009, it sounds excellent via the latest Itunes. 

Reading your experience, I should run it more often to see whether it fails.  I hope the reliability issue you described will be something of an exception rather than something common.
