My house wine is any red wine that I can find at Costco or Trader's Joe for under $20.  aa

Lucky you -- The stupid Connecticut liquor laws don't allow them to sell wine here.

I don't drink anymore, but my wife still does.

She is exclusively a white drinker, and does not like the typical whites (Chards etc).

She loves Gewurztraminer, so we ususally have a couple of those around.

For more special occasions, I like to bring in some of the Peter Lehmann whites from Oz, she really likes the Semillon and Rieslings.

I belong to one of those mail order wine clubs and have been pretty satisfied with their selections. I get a mixed case of reds and another case of whites four times a year each. The bottles are usually in the $12 range. Usually you'll get 2 or 3 bottles of each type of wine to make up a case. We'll save one bottle of each of the red wines for the wine cellar and we drink or gift the rest. I've been meaning to keep a record of our opinions of each wine in order to reorder the ones that we really like but it's been 3 years and I haven't done it yet.

My house w(h)ine:  "There is another heavy box on the front porch from Fed-Ex...why do you need more speakers?"

It is almost too robust, with a very bitter finish, and ages quite badly...
