Rob:
As you probably know arguments have raged over the burn in" issue. Bryston runs their gear for 100 hrs before shipping, mostly, I gather, to insure that the units meet or exceeds specs and operates as advertised. I don't know if that is because a typical (not necessarily Bryston) piece of electronic eq. failure rate is highest in the first 100 hours or if in fact there is something to the "burn in" issue. If memory serves me correctly James once said that another 50+ hours beyond what the engineers want is better.
However, I doubt if your going to see much change, but some have noted a difference over time. Whether that's real or imagined starts the argument all over again. But, from personnel experience, I can tell you this, I had a tuner restored and completely recapped with matching Blackgates. After 100+ hours the sound had changed significantly and it wasn't just my ears but the ears of several who had heard it immediately after restoration and then again 150+ hours later. So, at least in some instances I believe that the "burn in" issue has some validity.
But back to Bryston, I have not noticed any change in my 4 sq. over time, if you note any change it will only be an improvement on an already great sounding piece of gear.
Enjoy!
