HT3s and cutover for sub
« on: 10 Sep 2009, 10:00 pm »
Ive had some of Jims HT3s for 2+ years - great speakers.  I just added a Anthem D2v processor and for LFE movies I need to know what crossover freq I should use for My sub in relation to the HT3s.   Any advice greatly appreciated.

Are you using the sub only for movies or for music too?
I think I have my HT3's crossed at 60hz. What subwoofer are you using?
Play with different settings and see what you like. For music I might set the HT3's to large or set the crossover even lower-maybe 40 or 50hz.

I have a old Muse 18 sub.   I only use the sub for movies and yes I too set them for large with music and small for movies.

Can you take any in-room response measurements?  If so, you can experiment with different crossovers/phase and see which achieves the smoothest response.

Yes I can thanks.  Jim said the HT3 go to 29hZ so he suggested setting by sub to 35hz
