B100 SST DAC Comments:
This Integrated Amp with its DAC has significantly improved the sound of my system! I was using a Nad 1600 monitor series stereo Preamp/Tuner with an Audio Design PA-100 100wpc Stereo Power Amp. The sound was good but not what I hear in stereo dealer showrooms. First I thought it was my source - CD's and a mediocre fm tuner, but they use cd's, and they sound great. So I connected my 1988 Denon 1500II CD Player's variable audio outputs directly to the PA-100's preamp inputs. This made a big improvement in the sound - more detail, tighter bass and slightly better imaging - albeit with limited volume.
The B100SST with its DAC brought that sound to a new level. Much more detail and on most disc's much better Imaging, In fact on some disc's the difference was so dramatic I had to double check the cable's and player settings to verify I was listing to the same signal!
I purchased a new tuner at the same time. The sound from this Bryston Combination is stunning. It?s so good in fact, without a direct A-B comparison - on many local stations in the Windsor - Detroit area, you'd swear you were listing to a CD.
With the B100SST and its on board DAC you don't need vinyl to get excellent sound; you get live Broadcast sound that's 2'nd to none.
