Does the first BP20 with the power switch on the front have the same quality of sound as the later BP20's?
Or is it between the older 0.5B and the newer BP20's?
Thanks,
Dan

Hi Danny,

The guts of the BP20 has not changed much over the years just the power supply.

James, can you comment on the different power supplies for the BP-20/25 series?  I have a BP-20 made in 1999 and a BP-25 made in 1996.  The BP-25 has an early version of the BP-PSR whereas the BP-20 has a much later revision of the BP-PSR that includes a detachable AC power cord.  How do these compare with, say the MPS-1?

Is there an audible difference between pre-amps with the power switch on the front of the pre-amps compared to the later pre-amps.
In particular, the power supply (BP-PT)?
And is there an upgrade available for the early BP-20 with the BP-PT power supply?
Last question. Was the change due to performance?
Thanks

Hi Danny,

This is a Mike Pickett question as he was invloved in the MPS-1 and MPS-2 design. I have passed it to him.

Is the 'MP' in MPS1 and MPS2 linked to Mike Pickett as the 'ST' is linked to Mr Taylor ...
