X-Over placement guidelines

X-Over placement guidelines

What are the guidelines for placement of the crossover within a box?
For instance, should the components all be at the bottom.
Can they be split up and some parts be at the top?
How far away from the speaker magnets should they be, et cetera?
I am aware of how the foil inductors should be oriented.

I'd probably mount it close to wherever the binding posts are...

E-mail me and I'll send you pics of an early OB-7 network (real similar) that was installed into the bottom of the box. I did a two layer board (stacked). One board holds the network for the mids and one holds the network for the tweeter and lower woofers.
