while looking at the manuel for my dvd player i found a setting for 48khz sampling frequency or 96 khz if your reciever will handle it, well my rxv1 doesnt mention anything about sampling frequencies so i tried 96 for the hell of it, it sounded different somehow.
so then i decided to hook it up without the digital connection-used a set of rat shack rca's -it sounds better than ever/  so what did i do ? :o

That's the audio equivalent of a colon irrigation--you've blasted out all the disharmonic detritus from your signal path and now things are smooth-sailing!! :D

if ur connection between the dvd player and receiver is via the digital coax or optical input/output then u're using the receiver's DAC...if ur connection between the dvd player and receiver is via the analog RCA input/output then u're using the internal dvd DAC...
