Those who are interested(I am) in designing OB using waveguide, there is cheap waveguide from JBL, model: PT-F95HF, which costs less than $10 that gives Excellent performance. There is no point reporting here findings here go to

1.  DIYAudio under Speakers: B&C Compression Driver and Horns for discussion starting post no. 66 onwards.

Hi Scorpion,

I have 2 ongoing projects, the 2nd one is the MTM plus woofer, I have not had much progress on this project. If you are refering to the tweeter yes, I use B&C DE10 compr driver and ME10 horn. This combo need some equalization.

Another alternative you may like to try is DE10 and JBL horn ie PT-F95HF, $10 each, this combo you also need equalization, the x-over freq is around 2.5Khz not less than 2Khz, this is the limitation of DE10 not the horn. If you have more money try De250 it is very good.

Sorry it is very late here I going to bed. If you need more info  leave a message here, catch up with you tomorrow.

Cheers.

Saurav

Do you have any measurements of the DE10/ME10 combo? Kevin Haskins is bringing a speaker with that tweeter to VSAC, I'm looking forward to hearing it. I might try it on my next set of speakers.

Can you describe the results qualitatively? How peaky was the on-axis response in the lower treble, and how was the rolloff of the highs? How did the off-axis response look?

Hey TTAN98 - where the heck are you finding these for less than $10??  I've never seen a JBL horn that cheap, ever.
Can't even find an online seller for this or the bigger 12x12" version.

Right now it sounds..... just 'ok'.    I'm not sure it is the fault of the driver/horn combo though.   I'm fighting with the midrange--woofer crossover.

I don't want to repeat(takes too long) what have been said on the about sites(2) I am referring, I am repeating what has been said. Zilch is kind enough to get a pair for me as I am living overseas.

If you read the thread closely you will find a JBL site where you can place order, ie in the States.

Thanks - found it - I think.  Looks like the JBLPro parts dept.  Seems to be orders by telephone only.  Might give it a try. :)

The above is the measurement(on axis) I obtain from using the combo, Selenium D220Ti and JBL econowaveguide. the details of my set-up is as follows:

I use DCX2496 set with the following parameters:

1. 2nd order LR HP @ 2Khz
2. High Pass shelving set at 17.5Khz @ 3.5db gain

the 2 sets(left and right) look pretty close, see Attachment. The next step is to integrate with the JBL woofer in hand. Looks pretty good for a $55/combo.
