Hi Hugh,

Thanks for your reply. Yeah, EMF is a real PITA - seen from an amplifiers' view

However, I would say the EMF from tweeters and (real) midrange drivers is neglible and doesn't put sweat on any amps' forehead. Wouldn't you agree?

However, there may still be a sonic advantage of the Soraya - for other reasons - even with tweeters or midrange drivers. Is this so or not - or don't you know at this point?

I'm afraid that I won't be coming to Oz for some time - although Lene and I have talked about taking a month off and doing an Oz roundtrip. But it will be 3-4 years from now. By then you will not only have marketed the 'Alessandra' and the 'Sri', but probably also the 'Hugh' (wonder what kind of beast that will be???)

"Give me a Hugh"

THat will be the day :D

I have asked Alessandra if I can name an amp after her - no dice, she thinks the idea is ridiculous.  Ah well, no accounting for taste.......

Hi Hugh,

been a long time man. As with all things life has it's ups and downs, alongside waxing and waning interests in hobbies. I pop in from time to time as a passive reader, whom as you know has always had interest in your work and posts.

Just gotta say, well done, I know you have fought long with keen desire to further your business, such hard work is deserving of success.

regards
Raja

Hi Raja,

Thank you for your kind comments, much appreciated.

Encouragement means a lot to me, as I gaze out the window thinking of ways to solve high end problems - it's lonely but challenging work.

Cheers,

Hugh

Wishing you all the best Hugh.. Thousands of audiophiles have already benefited from your kits. I have met a couple of them in faraway India who said they still prefer to assemble an aksa kit even though they can afford much more now. That says a lot about the quality of your amps.

Gee, Hertz (should I call you Heinrich?),

That's nice, thank you!!   Yes, there are a few AKSAs in India, mostly Bangalore, and they seem very happy with them.  I'm winding the AKSA down, as you realise, but will still sell them if requested.  The new products are the Lifeforce (modules) and the Soraya (plug 'n play 100W).

Cheers,

Hugh

I  will only sell the Soraya CB105 as a retail product of course, but on your next visit here you will hear it!

Hi Hugh,

Many blessings to you on your next project.

So will the LF amps go away too? Do you have a possible retail price on the new amp yet? I prsume that will be in Australian money?

Hi Ray,

Thanks for your post.

No, the LF will remain a lower cost alternative with kit overtones for those not in the Soraya amp market.  I am actually building a bunch of them right now.

The flagship Soraya will sell for $US4200, a much more expensive amp, but one which delivers astounding performance, and incidentally will drive electrostatic speakers to ear splitting levels without raising a sweat.  More details as I complete the final fit and finish and eventually have it reviewed.

The Soraya manages to be both a technical marvel AND a musical masterpiece, and I'm still trying to figure out how I did this.  Got lucky, I guess, and had a lot of help from a young Canadian musician.

My daughter today over coffee expressed her quiet satisfaction at having my best yet named after her, quite a buzz for an ageing Dad...... :icon_lol:

Hugh

Hi Hugh,

A more recent post mentioned the "Soraya CB105" ... and I was confoosed!    Now that I've found your original post mentioning this name, I'm less confoosed but why "Soraya CB105" ... what does the "CB105" signify?

The "105" I might hazard a guess at - 105w into 8 ohms? - but the CB??   :o

Andy

Andy,

CB is the initials of the Canadian musician who, following my design, built the very first of these extraordinary amps.

We need kafe.......

Hugh
