Let's put all improvements to AKSA 100 here.
Using the Linn philosophy, first there was Nirvana, then Valhalla.

I thought I started this thread for mods to the AKSA 100. No-one seems to take any notice.

Malcolm,

It's nothing personal.

Threads take on a life of their own, since when people compose their responses they like to flick back to refer to previous posts.  A brand new thread makes this difficult!

I still think you are wonderful!!

Cheers,

Hugh

Hugh, just in case you didn't know, as the moderator of this forum, you have the power to combine threads if you feel it is needed/justified and or delete posts from any user that are no longer relevant (potentially such as this one I'm typing now)

If it were me I'd combine the threads and let both thread starters know via PM that you have done it for clarities sake ;-)

Looking forward to more lively AKSA 100 tweak chat,

Cheers

I thought Hugh's mistake re the voltage rating of C3 on the Valhalla - AKSA 55 was due to combining threads.
Hence my earlier comment on this thread.

Hi EchiDna,

I’ll be stop by Singapore for a few days around Nov. The family is heading back M’sia for a month holiday.
I am wondering how is the component price in S’pore compared to US. Things like RCAs (male & female), exotics caps and resistors like BG, Nichicon, Riken Ohms, Kiwame etc.
Also, which shop would you recommend. I’ll be staying with my brother who know the place well.

Cheers,
Sam

oh there is plenty ;-)
actually one of the best regional DIY shops is Octave Electronics, located near KL in Malaysia... I buy stuff there on every trip North

OCTAVE ELECTRONICS SDN. BHD.

In Singapore everyone loves to hit a few places like Martin Electronics and Well Audio Lab in Burlington Square - close to Sim Lim Tower, the electronic component supermarket of Singapore (not much exotic stuff in SLT though)...

the other favorite is KOBA Electronics in People's Park, Chinatown... you have to search but they have all types of exotica there...
Hope that helps,

SamL

Have you built or heard their DAC kit?

I've seen the ad several times & wondered if it's any good.

Happy to answer that question in the lab or something, we are getting too far off topic here...

Hugh, can you move these posts to the lab? or do we have to call on the Borg?

Hi Glen,

Far as I know, I cannot move posts to other forums unless I copy/paste, then delete the original post.

I'm reluctant to do this because of the time involved, but I'm happy to exhort people to move the topic themselves, which is probably the better option anyway as it gives them 'ownership'.

Your thoughts?

Cheers,

Hugh

"Call me, I'll be there..."

Actually, Hugh can do it. See the "You can edit this circle" at the bottom of the page. The manual is here: http://phpbb.com/guide/phpBB_Users_Guide.html#section5

Hugh can also nominate a forum member to assist him.
