Balance out of a DAC to none balance in of AKSA.

Just wonder if I can connect the pin 1 (ground) and pin 2 (hot) of a balance out to a 50K Apls port and from there to the none balance in of AKSA?
I read that balance out is 6db more than line out, do I get 6db gain by doing so?
I found some discussion about how to mod AKSA to take balance in but try not to mod my AKSA if I can avoid.

Edit: Ops! Found a major flow in my question.  :duh: Retype :)

Yes, Sam,

this should work fine.  Take one of the hot outputs, connect to the AKSA, and the center, ground termination to signal ground, and then pass a 33K resistor from the other hot output to ground.

The AKSA will then function in single ended input mode;  the usual way, and the balanced line from the preamp should be close to evenly loaded.

Gain will drop by 6dB to the same levels as a single ended output from a regular preamp.

Cheers,

Hugh

Good to know that this is do-able.  :green:
Wonder if I can expend the idea by connecting the pin 2 (hot) to AKSA100, pin3 (hot) to AKSA55 and pin 1 (ground) to both AKSA100/55 ground in. One problem about this is the inverted polarity between pin2 (hot) and 3 (hot but inverted polarity). Is there an easy way to reinvent the polarity of pin3 back to that of pin2? Will be excellent if this can be done.

Sam,

Only with a transformer or phase inverting chip.......

Not worth it.
