Vinnie installed Rockbox before he sent the iMod/iPod to me.  It's been running fine for a few days, except that not all functions especially Playlist seemed to manifest or function as described in the online manual.  So today I attempted to update it to the latest version of rockbox.

I downloaded the rockbox.zip file (for iPod video - perhaps the wrong file - should have been for iPod color) and unzipped it onto root directory of the 60gb iPod.  After it's done (and until now), I reset but nothing  has happened except that the Apple picture keeps showing on the display.  Vinnie happens to be away from 4/11 to 4/16 to the FSI Expo in Montreal.

I am so desperate.  Please HELP!

Yep, you need to use a version of Rockbox designed for the Color model.  I would HIGHLY recommend the latest from:

http://mikeage.net/content/rockbox-custom-builds/

The Rockbox website (http://www.rockbox.org/) describes how to go about ubdating the software.

Yup, another learning curve for me.

Thanks for the PM, Matt.  This Imod is a gem indeed.  I may like it better than the SB2/Altmann/TVC combo in the 2-channel system.
