www.bluebeat.com

....but it doesn't work with the SB3 or the Transporter which really bites as Blue Beat actually pays attention to how tunes are ripped.

Lately, I've been doing a lot of listening to "Bebop 24x7".  The range of styles is a bit wider than the name would suggest.  It's quite good.  At this very moment, "Jordu" by Clifford Brown and Max Roach is playing.  URL for the stream is

WAER FM - Syracuse University's terrific jazz station. Jazz weekdays and evenings. But it really gets interesting on the weekends - 3 or 4 different blues shows, a folk show, a funk show, and more. Check the schedule - great station.

WERU FM, a community station out of Blue Hill Maine is also excellent. Very eclectic.

Both are non-commercial, and you won't hear the same songs over and over like you do on KPIG

slinco, I can't seem to find either on Live565, SHOUTcast, or RadioTime. How do I get to them?

KZAM - More variety than the record company's know what to do with.

Another one I can't find, even though the website says they are supported through Live365. Joules, any help greatly appreciated.

Live365's search function leaves a bit to be desired!

For classical fans,  check out www.beethoven.com.  It is free,  but need to pay if you want their high bandwidth 96kbps

been listening to bebop 24x7 tonight recommended by AndyC - nice recommendation - have it bookmarked for future listening.  Have been getting a bit tired of my regular TSF jazz from Paris or KCRW mostly alt rock / world music off the SlimPicks best stations.

One of my favorite internet radio shows, once a week, is on right now.  It is at wrti.org, and it's called "The Historical Approach to the Positive Music" hosted by Harrison Ridley Jr.  He is on from 8PM to midnight U.S. EST every Sunday.  He'll usually feature one artist for the four hours.  Tonight it's Randy Weston.  Next week it's Johnny Griffin.  The best sounding stream they have is AAC+ which you have to look at the SlimDevices wiki to figure out how to set up.  But they have an MP3 stream that you can access without fiddling around.  Here is the MP3 URL:

Folk Alley (www.folkalley.com).  Supported by listener contributions, they offer a free, high-quality stream of folk music 24 X 7.  I discovered this station shortly after getting my Squeezebox, and it's turned me into a folk music fan!

Well, I was able to track down the streaming urls for all but waer.org, and so far I have to say thanks to all who've made suggestions. While we could spend countless hours listening to the thousands of streams available over the 'net (and in my case through my SB3), these recommendations aren't too bad at all!

As far as waer goes, I tried running it through Shoutcast and every time I tried, it locked up. Then I tried http://www.waer.org/webcast.html I get an "outdated link" alert and nothing happens. Can anyone provide a working url for this station?
