I now have them sounding pretty good in my basement. I just hooked them up to a Jolida 302b tube amp and the sound is big and full. I'm still getting some distortion on loud passages in music which is probably the room reflections or it just could be the cheap Sony CD/DVD player I'm using as a source (which actually sounds pretty good with the Jolida
). You're right about the 626's, it's amazing how big they can sound. From my experience they need to have a lot of breathing room and tubes.
