Are the $10ea Vishay's still considered the proverbial "cat's meow"?  Anything else considered equal or better?  Thank goodness I only need a couple.  I got them from Percy earlier.  Anyone else stocking them now?  Thanks.

Depends on the project:

1. You can get Mills resistors from Sonic Craft. They have a wide variety. Parts Express also has them but more limited in selection.

2. Parts Connexion has a wide variety of resistors - Rikens are very nice.

I'm looking only for resistors that users have compared to the $11ea (maybe more now, that was '95) Vishay's.  Whatever testers consider equal or better overall, not a step down.

A friend & I were surprised how close the $.40ea Dale's got to the Vishay's, but they were still a step down.

Jim,

Don't forget the Caddock line.  :D I personally have not compare them to Vishay. But I know that they are better than the Dale, Halco and Roderstien.

I have some in my Audio Note M1 Phono pre and Welborne Lab Apollo 1.5 SET amp. I use mostly the MK-132 in the signal path. And I do have the TF020 lower watt (.33) in step ladder volume control (all with Holco) as a pre-attenuation and it is very tranparent... more so than the MK-132. :o

They run from $4 to $11. So, I think they are a good alternative to the Vishay. Are they the same or better than Vishay? I don't know. I wish I have time to compare them.  :D

Take care,
