Don't know if any of you were aware of this West African musician, but he did some nice stuff in times past that I've enjoyed.
"Talking Timbuktu" with Ry Cooder won a Grammy in 1994, and apparently he won another last year. I'll have to go looking for that.
He passed yesterday, and was the real deal with some great world music.
He also has worked with Taj Mahal in the past.
Lovely stuff if you have taste for good rythms.
