BDA-2 and BHA-1 have a different finish on the top and sides - why?

Hi folks!

A few days ago I purchased the BDA-2 D/A converter. I am very happy with the audio quality and build quality. However, I do have one question regarding the finish on the BDA-2. About seven months ago I purchased the BHA-1 headphone amplifier and, like with the BDA-2, I am very happy with it. What is puzzling me is the difference in the finish between the BDA-2 and BHA-1. There are no differences on the front panel but the top and side panels are obviously different. While the BHA-1 finish is smooth, the BDA-2 is really not and seems a lot more rough to me. I don't know why this is the case but the bottom panels on both machines appear to be the same and as smooth as the rest of the panels on the BHA-1.

Would someone please comment on this?

Cheers!

Hi

There will be some variation in finish and paints used over time

Hi!

Thank you for your reply! I suspected that you did some changes on that department. It is not a problem at all.

I never stack my components together so there is no chance any harm will ever come to them. Still, your build quality gives me plenty confidence.

Cheers!
