just wondering whether the amp section of the 9bsst is the same as 3bsst ? many thanks

same basic design but from an older post from James Tanner, if I remember correctly:

The 3B has more available heat sinking thus higher power output.  I believe it has more caps per channel as well.

3BSST is better in 2ch applications compared to a 9BSST used as stereo.  Although, the difference between the 9BSST and 3BSST will be subtle.

many thanks for those reply.

Had a feeling that the 3bsst used in 2 channel should sound a little better than a 9bsst used in a 2 channel.

On the other hand, the 9BSST is excellent in home theater applications.  :wink:

And you'll have the option of bi-amping using 4 channels. :)
