No, you misunderstand- I did buy the SB Underworld.  I did so with some misgivings, considering how much better film the longer version is, but I couldn't pass on getting the SB.  Especially at $9.99.

No, I fully understood.

What I was saying was why was there any doubt about it in the first place? As in why didn't you own it already?

Hmmm...speaking of Blackhawk Down, I didn't notice any copies of that one on SB at my local BB.  Having seen it for the first time just last week, I'd definately say it was worth buying on SB.  I'll have to look again next time I'm there.

Sadly, that'll probably be next Sunday.  I've been working about 75 hours a week for the last couple months.  Not much time for shopping.

I'd not seen it before I picked it up on SB. I'd never heard a complaint about it. So when I was suffering a bad case of new disc withdrawal a month or so back I picked it up on the $10 deal.

Good movie. Glad it didn't suck.  The video is great on it as well. But man, I'd hate to see what the non-SB releases look like.

I just bought 10 SuperBit titles today! :)   A couple are ones I had but sold when I was oow, many are ones I intended to get long ago but never did.  I was particularly pleased to get The Patriot for $10- being an SB Deluxe, that one used to be $28.

I almost didn't buy Underworld SB.  The movie was great, but IMO the extra footage added back to the new edition makes it a vastly better film.  Still, $10 for the SB version was too much to pass up.

So, what else didja pick up?

Let's see...

Desperado
xXx
Das Boot
The Patriot
Air Force One
Dracula
The Fifth Element
Underworld

Can't remember the others.  I also bought The Hole.  Not a SB but I worship Keira Knightley!

Hmm. Any of those SB's that I own are ones that I had before the sale.

I don't have Dracula. That one any good?

I picked that one up a good 2 1/2 years ago. Actually before it was available in this country. Had to import it...

Well, for a while I was broke, and then I was working all the time.   Plus, the PJ bulb is getting way up there on hours on the current bulb.  Given that and my lack of free time, I didn't buy much for DVDs for a while.  But with football season upon us, I decided to order a new bulb last Weds.  And I'm starting to get a handle on my schedule- last week I think I was down to about 65 hours.

As an aside, I think that over the last couple years I've moved away from being a videophile towards being more of a film buff.  At first the 100" screen and bass at Dolby ref levels was intoxicating, but eventually I tired of "demo DVDs" and have been more interested in the quality of the movies.  Hence my reluctance to buy the SB of Underworld.  Don't get me wrong- the technical merits and picture & sound quality are still important to me.  But I'd rather watch a little softer picture and lose out on a whisker of sound quality to see a better film.
