I have a pair o Monoblocks Odissey Stratos Extreme SN 3214 and 3215. I bought recently from a Guy in Canada (2nd. owner) but when I use them with my McIntosh C2500 premaplifier they cause a DISTORTION in all frequency range, when volume go up 40% or more than - 25 db in VU meters.
They were bought for use with a pair of LRS+ Magnepan Speakers and in near future with Magnepan 1.7x or Dipthique 115 speakers.
I want to get tested by a tecnician.
I live in ECUADOR, sud america so it is imposible for me to return back to seller or to Klaus.

I think your best bet will be to contact Klaus. I would recommend calling him if possible to help solve your problem, sending an email might take longer than you would like. He might be able to diagnose the issue and come up with a solution. I highly doubt you will be able to get a schematic. 317-299-5578 is his number and call late, he is located in Indianapolis Indiana which is the Central time zone in the US. He might even respond to this thread if he checks in on his circle.

He can be hard to contact, and the group has figured out that calling him after 10pm in the Central time zone is your best bet. I know you are frustrated, and I understand that. Try using all three methods to contact him. You can send a personal message here on AC, you can email and try calling. Maybe someone will read this that can be of more help than I.

Is this not just some sort of gain issue, when you turn it up too much everything distorts. Sounds like too much gain issue to me.

Right now I'm getting ready for Axpona plus dealing with some health issues in the family.........but first things first here:

1.  Are the amps getting hot ???
2.  Do you have a CD player with a volume control so that we can bypass the Mc ???  (make sure to turn down the volume before connecting)
3. If necessary,  they have to be rebiased....I can send instructions.

1. No, they run really cool.
2. I have a Bkuesound streamer that has volumen control to test bypassing C2500

That preamp has 15db gain so pretty much the same as a Candela.

Hi, KLAUS. Thank you for answer me by email. I do all the test and distortion is still present. I know Mr. Nasau talk with you to make an upgrade to Kismet. I have a dude, the capacitors located out of the board near piltrom transformer (8 capacitors in each amp) must also be changed because of age, so I was wondering if they are included in that UPGRADE TO KISMET or have to buy separately, so what are the technical characteristics of that capacitors?
