**FOUND** Rythmik FM8 pair.
« on: 27 Nov 2024, 03:55 am »
I've decided to shop around for a pair of Rythmik FM8 to work as speaker stands for NX-Studios. Small room and wish to cross over higher than standard would make that an ideal situation. Willing to trade a good condition GR Research Sealed Plus sub (A370PEQ amp) towards value if that sweetens the deal. Wish I had the space for Double Troubles but just not in the cards. Lots of other things I should spend $ on right now, but that is sounding like a good upgrade.

I have 2 pairs of these and have thought about selling a pair but just hadn't gotten around to it.  I'll be keeping a pair for exactly what you're doing - pairing with 2-ways.  I'll reach out to you directly.

This I think is a very smart move and is what I have done for a pair of GR Super Mini's.

I move the speakers out to position for listening. That is why I made the handles. I also raised them off of the floor about 8" for a cleaner sound and to get the right tweeter height.

Very cool!  I've kicked around a similar idea but haven't put it together yet.  By the way, here is the NX-Studio on one of these.  I misspoke above... I have F8 subs.  The FM8 adds a filter for being able to high pass them so you can use a more powerful sub for below 50hz.

I think these little subs are great.

Yep, I'm excited. I've seen several people mount them over the years and seeing yours Ronny made me pursue it further. I will likely need to boost a couple inches so I may have to rig something up with that. Gonna be fun!

Yes, just make a little stand out of wood / paint it, whatever.  That picture has them on 2 pieces of wood that are hidden in the picture.  I wanted to see them at proper height.  They're great little units and that's why I'm keeping a pair.

Raising them off of the ground is VITAL if you are going to cross over 80 hz or so, as it cleans up the mid bass. I run mine all the way up to their 250 hz limit.

Yep, that's the plan. I'll make a base for them to raise the 4 or 6 inches it needs to get proper tweeter height. My couch sits a little low, but sitting with ear height +/- a few degrees in angle isn't bad.

Are you running any isolation devices between your FM8 and speakers? I currently have mine on IsoAcoustic Indigo and it really helped for on stands. I'll try both ways but I was curious of your experience with that part.
