Hi everyone!

My dad is a big fan of classical music and has a fairly decent audio setup with Tannoy gold monitors that he's had for about 40 years, now a Bryston amplifier and a decent player as far as I understand.

I was wondering if you could help me understand what would be a good pair of Daedalus speakers you'd recommend for someone who is obsessed with his Tannoy setup?

Hello
Tannoy monitors are speakers with a concentric speaker, you have to understand what vintage monitor your father has, it could be floorstanding with a 15 " or smaller, but the fact remains that Daedalus speakers have, even in small models such as Musa or Atena, three transducers for the various frequencies and a woofer of much smaller size,   so the listening result will be decidedly different, also in terms of way of delivering the sound and presence at the bottom.
That said, if he only listens to classical music, it must also be evaluated in what environment and at what distance, if he has the opportunity to listen to a Daedalus speaker he will understand if it is a sound that satisfies him or not.
I'm not a fan of concentric, but if you've lived with it for 40 years, maybe it's hard to switch to a speaker with such a different setting . . .
Greetings Dario
