Hope Danny doesn't mind, if so, please let me know and I'll take this down.  But the speakers that Danny and I upgraded together a couple of years ago are up for sale, se here:

Thanks!  I decided to go with full OB speakers in that room.  I wanted to build out some new Super 7's but there's no drivers.  Then I wanted to build out some NX-Oticas but I dont' have room for the towers plus subs in that room.  Ultimately I decided to go with the Spatial Audio X3's.

I enjoyed the Spatials when I heard them, but they sound best with some warmer/smoother sounding gear. The all-digital NAD M33 was too clinical and and make them sound quite harsh in the upper mid range, especially on hot/bright tracks.

Did you hear the M series or the X series?  I have the X3's with the giant Beyma AMT tweeter and the self-powered 15 inch bass woofer at the bottom.  I ask because the X3's are not bright at all.   If anything they lean toward too warm, at least in my system.  And of course, since I can't help myself, I also rebuilt their crossover from scratch, using ultra-premium parts.  They are pretty much dead-neutral now.

It was the M-3 Sapphire. I do want to hear the X-3 though
I may have to bug Ron about it as i think he has a pair of the X-3 as well. :P
I know he was really impressed with the dynamics of the X-3 when he first talked about them before his move to TX.

Yes, the X3's is actually somewhat similar in design as the Super 7's, which is the main reason I took a chance on them.   My main amp only has to drive the mids and highs, while the bass woofer comes in at 90hz.  The top part is 97db efficient and flat 6 ohm load.  So very nice design!

Sounds like a couple very nice choices to have at your disposal!
