My Pi will play tidal but won’t play my media files. It shows on the dash board that the song is playing but the display still shows “TIDAL” and no sound is coming.

Umm, this doesn't seem to have anything to do with Bryston per se, maybe it would be better for the Discless Circle?

I have found with no sound that the audio input setting is off--often it changes on its own--for example in Tidal it should be set to to my USB DAC or snd_rpi_hifiberry_digi or bcm2835 ALSA but for some reason that setting doesn't stick and changes to something that produces no sound.

i did check that setting and it’s correct. It’s almost like it’s not reading from my iPad to the Pi. We know it is as tidal is working. I’m sure it’s a setting I nursed with trying to find the up address a couple of days ago.
