My apologies if this is a stupid question, but how do I know if my MC input is made for  a low output or high output cartridge?

The manual says the MC loading is 50 ohm so that will work with low output moving coil.  High output moving coils would be happy into the MM input. What cartridge are you considering?

Phono inputs marked MC are always designed for low output MC cartridges. Some ultra-low output MCs may not have enough output for adequate gain with a specific MC phono stage. High output MC cartridges are designed to go into standard MM phono inputs as far as both their loading and gain characteristics.
