Hi alinto,
I had exactly the same issue when I was starting up my bdp-2 on Sunday. I turned it off and started up again and it booted up fine. See the thread "Unable to start services on BDP-2." I have a feeling our issue was due to the same cause. Somehow I think the bdp-2 tries to make a connection to Bryston servers during boot up if it is connected to the internet, and yesterday it could not as the Bryston server was down apparently.
