Dongle / dingle / isolator thingy question
« on: 18 Apr 2016, 09:16 pm »
Hello guys,

A few years ago I bought some ground isolator things from someone on this forum, but can't remember who it was, or what they were officially called.... I was hoping someone here may know what I'm talking about...?

They are about 4" long, have one copper lead going to a cotton shroud about 1/4" diameter and I believe they contain a long length of fine magnet type wire wound up inside...?

Folks were putting them on negative terminals of amps and speakers and they seemed to clean up noise to some degree and increase resolution.

Thanks for sharing any information on these things.... much appreciated.

Mark

Most probably the Groundside Electronics toys.
They may dingle or dongle, but they don't isolate.

You mean that people would pay money for something they can make in a few minutes?

Hmmnn .... yes, believe it or not, sometimes it cost's less money to just buy something ready made like this, rather than invest in a reel of litz wire and associated materials when you don't already own them.... I remember I didn't pay a lot for my originals.
