Hi:
I am looking for information on YBA's Passion preamplifiers, specifically on two features:
1) Do all or only some YBA Passion preamplifiers have a unity gain (home theater bypass function)? I'm looking for responses from current or past owners responses - I have a YBA Alpha preamp that sounds wonderful, and it has a "video" input, but it's not a unity gain output.
2) Do all or only some YBA Passion preamplifiers have phono stages? Again, same circumstance, my preamplifier has RCA connectors labeled phono/aux, including a grounding post, but it does not have a phono stage in it, either.
Yes, I've tried contacting YBA, but their new management had no information on it.

MM phono preamps came standard in the YBA passion preamplifiers as did a large separate power supply. as for unity gain I cant find any information on it.

Hi Guys,
I was made aware of this thread and it caused me to sign-up to reply.

We at tmh audio are the new YBA distributor in the US market...and quite excited and honored to re-introduce such an iconic brand.

To answer Muser's questions with this caveat - although I cannot address previous models, based on current designs and productions.

1. The current Passion Preamp/DAC "550" has a Video input. When a source is connected to this input, one can use the remote to change the Preamp to "Bypass" mode by simply pressing 1 button on the remote. Pressing the button again returns the Preamp to normal operation.

2. The Pre/DAC "550" does not have a Phono input. It does offer 3 Analog Inputs + 7 Digital Inputs that use the internal Dual Mono CS4398 DAC.

3. The Signature Preamp does include a Phono section.

PS: We are auditioning the Triode Wire Lab "Seven Plus" AC cord (with Furutech Rhodium connectors) with the Passion series Amplifier "650" - quite extraordinary after only 24 hours. Up next will be the Digital American HP on the Pre/DAC "550".

As an update, YBA is introducing the new "Passion" series Phono Stage - PH150 - for MM & MC cartridges.

Although it shares the "Passion" series faceplate & 9mm bottom plate, it is 2 separate housings - one for PS and one for signal circuitry. See attached photos.
