Correct me if I am wrong, but did not a Aussie 'fix' his movies as well, and nobody complained.  Arguably the studios told him the movies were too long.  But color me green, after the 1st two made a quadrillion nuevo pe ...

ER... that "Aussie" would be a Kiwi Woodsea... You just commited an atrocity to his people ;-) something like calling a Canadian, American, or visa-versa...

Personally, I have only bought the extended editions of the LOTR series... but also have "copies" of the cinematic release as well...

People who originally enjoyed Star Wars in the cinema are at least 30+ years old now, so I guess they figure that with VHS and lazer disc being almost redundant technology, it is time to gather in another $150 million or so through DVD sales... ever wondered why it aint released at Christmas time?? think of all those copies that WOULD NOT be sold against the last of the LOTR series (and it's matching 35 disc set) for gifts

The Star Wars DVDS made $115 million from Tuesday release to Friday.

Those are insane numbers!

Sorry EchiDna- I humbly apologize for my geographical error.
Though I am not like Michael Moore, I would not be too offended being called a Canadian, as I see it, this part of the world we are just NorthAmericans.
As long as G.L. isn't hurting anyone, I don't have a problem with him selling what he likes.

Technically the films look spotless.  They really did a bang up job cleaning them up.  A New Hope looks dark to me though.  Might be intentional considering it's basically a low budget movie and Lucas is trying to hide some of the cardboard looking sets (namely the cantina and trash compactor).  A New Hope really holds up besides the unnecessary tinkering.  Why they needed the Jabba scene is beyond me, it works much better seeing him for the first time in ROTJ besides they just can't get the CGI right.  Otherwise its still a highly entertaining movie.

Regarding not paying for this release, who the hell do you think you are?  A lot of work went into making this box set.  The awesome menu design, the frame by frame restoration etc.  Are you stupid enough to think Lucas did all of this himself?  Maybe we should hire WerTicus to do some slave labor and see how he feels about it?  Moronic and obviously the thinking of a child.

i dont want to steal it i just dont have 100 bucks spare to throw at it and i want it.

logical to steal if they dont want to give it to me at a more reasonable price.

and when i see "115million" in the first 5 days of release i dont feel so bad!

sorry if i wasnt a slave on a minimum wage at 20 yrs of age i could afford such things but i am.
