Conrad-Johnson Premier 11A Amplifier
Excellent working condition. Excellent cosmetic condition save minor ding on front lower right corner, minor paint surface scratch on right side - no other flaws. These can be seen in the photos. Complete with tube cage, vintage RCA 5151's, vintage 6CG7's, KT120 power tubes all with ~500 hours, original bound manual, biasing screwdriver, four spare fuses, and new factory box with inserts. $

In my opinion, this is the sweet spot in the Conrad-Johnson timeline 1993-2000. On the cusp between very warm and softer earlier models and more neutral later models, the 11A has just the right about of midrange warmth. You can either run KT88, KT90, 6550 or KT120 power tubes. KT120's are included and are what C-J now endorses for the best sound. Note that these newer tubes are taller than the original 6550's. Therefore the tube cage would have to be lifted slightly to accommodate the height. I preferred to keep the amp displayed without the cage. It really looks designed to be displayed open where you can see the anodized gold top, bank of transformers at the rear and the fully glory of the tube glow! This is the Pr11A, the later version with noise reduction incorporated. The original model was the Pr11. As the name implies, C-J gave the Premier models the best quality parts. It was manufactured in 1997.
