I understand this maybe a 'hidden" feature on the SP 1.  I noticed in the manual (both the online version and hard copy that came with my unit) there is a section devoted to this feature in the Table of Contents (Page 21) but there is nothing typed on this page regarding this.

Can this be done and how can it be accomplished?

Please advise.

Thanks....

Jim

you have to use the discrete codes off the remote namely 060

so aim your remote at the SP 1.7 and press

"code"
"mute" for 0
"stereo" for 6
"mute" for 0

you should see on the SP 1.7 display a "sub bypass on / off" I remember correctly.

Just remember that a full range signal will be sent to your sub output so you will have to find a way to externally cross over  that output outside of the Bryston SP 1.7 (eg on the sub itself)

correct,

When you listen in 2 ch bypass mode with the sub bypass "off".  A full range signal will be sent out through the sub outputs.  By default ie (factory settings) there is no sub output when listening in 2 ch bypass mode.
