I have a pair of Carver 180 tube amps. Each amp has an attenuator which I don't use but it's the first thing the RCA input signal sees. I replaced them with the GoldPoint Mini V 100k attenuators and noticed a great improvement in transparency even with the GP wide open. I was wondering if I could just bypass the GP and wire direct?? I'm thinking the 100k resistance of the GP needs to be in the circuit?? If so maybe I could just insert some 100k resistors?? If so I'm not sure which wire to put the resistor on - there are 3 wires.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
