Set speaker distances twice?

Does setting speaker distance in both the DVD player and the pre/pro DOUBLE the time delays?

I'm using an inexpensive Pioneer all-formats DVD player including the 6-channel analog outs.  I listen to a lot of DVD-As, so it makes sense to me to set the speaker distances in the player, so the analog signals are 'timed' correctly.  Should I set them also in the pre/pro?  If I don't, then the signal from other sources won't be timed correctly.

Maybe the pre/pro doesn't apply time delays to the analog inputs?  How about the digital signal from DVD-Vs, ie movies?  Do the time delays double then?

Very few Pre/Pro's apply time correction to the analog inputs. What Pre/Pro are you using?
